Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how the LoupeBird macOS app handles information. It does not describe the HueBird web app or general use of the huebird.art website, which has a separate HueBird Privacy Notice.

2. No personal data collection

LoupeBird does not collect personal information. The app has no user accounts, sign-in, analytics, advertising, tracking, or network services.

3. Screen Recording permission

LoupeBird requires macOS Screen Recording permission so it can analyze the portion of the screen beneath its lens. Screen pixels are processed locally on your Mac. They are not sent to Eric Doggett or any third party.

LoupeBird excludes its own windows from the captured image.

4. Copying and saving images

Images leave LoupeBird’s live processing only when you explicitly choose to copy an image to the clipboard or save a PNG to a location you select. LoupeBird does not upload those images.

5. Information stored on your Mac

LoupeBird stores app preferences—such as its selected mode and window position—locally using standard macOS preferences. These settings are used only to remember how you left the app.

6. Third parties

LoupeBird does not include third-party analytics, advertising networks, tracking tools, or cloud processing services. Because LoupeBird does not collect or transmit personal data, it does not sell or share personal data.

7. Retention and deletion

LoupeBird stores no screen images or personal data on Eric Doggett’s servers. You control any images you copy or save. Local preferences remain on your Mac until you change or remove them or remove the app’s stored preferences.

8. Changes to this policy

If LoupeBird’s privacy practices change, this page will be updated and the effective date above will be revised.
